July is slowly coming to an end and I am a little sad to see it ending. It was a pretty great month filled with parties, delicious foods, and concerts—aka the perfect summer activities. I wish I had pictures to share of the Wolfmother/Modest Mouse shows I attended, but I always leave my camera at home because I’m so paranoid about damaging it. Cameras and mosh pits don’t make the best combination. Next Sunday, I’m going to an Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros concert at the Hollywood Bowl, and this show will definitely be camera safe. I can't wait.
Anyways, back to the outfit at hand. Ha! I purchased this Forever 21 floral print dress about three years ago and it has held up exceptionally well. I wear it more times then I probably should, but I can’t help it, it’s the perfect casual dress. I always wear shorts with this dress, being 5’8, Forever 21 dresses tend to be a little short. However, if I could get away with wearing this dress every day, I probably would!

Desert Floral
The summer days continue to be sweltering and unbearable here in inland Southern California. On days like these I am always reminded that I live in a desert. Lately, I’ve been dreaming about escaping to my favorite place in the world, the Central California coast. Honestly, as sappy as it sounds, this region has my heart. Ha! I’d love to share on this blog, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be making the trek north this year, sadly.
Living in a desert does have some benefits, for it makes a pretty backdrop. This empty little space is located a few blocks away from my house, situated between homes. I bought this high-low floral pleated dress from Target a year ago, and even though I wore it a few times during the winter, I consider it to be a perfect summer dress. I accessorized using my absolute favorite oversized glasses from Forever 21, in addition to these strappy black flats, also from Target (about 80% of my closet was purchased from Target, I’m obsessed).

Red, White, and Polka Dot
Happy 4th of July weekend! I have to admit, I'm not much of a summer girl, so naturally this particular holiday isn't one of my favorites. However, I really enjoyed the 4th this year. Instead of going to parties, I stayed at home eating delicious food with my family. It was a calm and relaxing day; just the way I like it.
I just purchased these polka dot pants from Target, and I have already fallen in love with them. Jeans are most uncomfortable item of clothing one can wear on warm summer days, but this adorable pair is surprisingly lightweight. I'm already planning of pairing these pants with yellow, red, and grey in the upcoming months. The red purse is currently my favorite possession at the moment. I ordered it from Modcloth on sale and it is worth every penny. I have a obsession with red accessories. A small touch of red is able to make every outfit pop.

A Confessional
Alright, it’s officially time for a change. After scrolling
through my past posts, I’ve come to the conclusion that this blog doesn’t truly
reflect me as a person—sure, it chronicles my outfits, but why stop there? From
now on I’m going to try my best to make this blog reflect all aspects of my
life. I want this blog to encompass all aspect of my life, both the good and the
bad. It is easier and far less time consuming to solely post picture the way I
have been doing, but it’s time to tap into my inner voice and share it with
anyone who will listen. The reason I haven’t written passage to accompany my
photo is honestly because I’m just too lazy, but now that the strenuous school
workload has ended, I really have no excuse. When it comes to blogging, nothing should be
off limits, and I no longer want to restrict myself to just outfit shots. My favorite blogs are those written my
individuals who allow strangers deeper insight into their lives with every
post, and I want to be as honest as those bloggers.
xoxo

Graduation Day
After three years of essays, sleepless-nights, exams, and presentations, I am thrilled to announce that I finally graduated from Riverside City College. These last three years have represented a major growing up period in my life. I've had my fair share of ups and downs while attenting RCC, but I always enjoyed going to school and learning from RCC's exceptional honors professors. I didn't really love school until I came to RCC, and now that I'm leaving it's hard to say goodbye. This fall I will be transferring to the University of California Riverside, and I have to admit that I'm a little nervous about this next stage in my life but I know that I have the world's greatest support system to rely on.
I'm really going to my beautiful little school.
