I unfortunately contracted the stomach flu this week which has been really awful but I didn't allow it to put a damper on my Halloween! I spent this year at home with my family carving pumpkins and eating. I've been wanting to be the Morton Salt Girl for a while now and it is seriously one of the easiest costumes. I picked up this yellow dress from Forever 21 and it was perfect and so comfortable.

Afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch
To kick off the start of Fall, my sisters and I took a trip out to the large Live Oak Canyon pumpkin patch to celebrate my sister's 27th birthday. The weather could not have been anymore perfect for this outing, and I LOVED being able to wear some of my favorite cool weather pieces, including these new boots I just picked up. During the Fall/Winter season I live in black pants. They really are the easiest way to instantly dress up any outfit.

Besides the huge inflatable jumpers, conspicuous amounts of pumpkins and yummy food, this particular patch also had a rather large corn maze. I've always wanted to enter a maze, but one of my biggest fears is getting lost a mazes' dead ends for hours. Someday I'll conquer my fear, someday :)

Dress Blues
Since it's almost the end of summer, I've decided to wear one of my favorite and most treasured warm weather pieces. I absolutely adored this dress as soon as I saw Emma Watson wearing it, so imagine my surprise and great pleasure to find out it was a Modcloth dress.

School Daze
Now that we've hit mid-September, I've become more excited than ever for autumn to finally begin. Sadly, living in California we only get a few weeks of fall before winter begins, but this year I plan on enjoying every second of it. I can't wait!
Today was in the low 90's, which, after a wave of 100 degree days feels like paradise.

The Daily Grind
It's safe to say that I've fallen off the blogger bandwagon. These last few weeks have forced me to get back into the swing of school and the endless amount of reading that goes along with it. I haven't been very inspired fashion wise lately because I'm still forced to deal with miserable summer time temperatures and humidity.
I can't remember a summer when I've been more excited for fall! It gets pretty difficult to resist the urge to thrown on shorts and lose, cozy shirts every time I leave the house.
I've had this F21 top for two years now, and it is the catalyst that started my love affair with Peter-Pan collars. Unfortunately, every time I wear this shirt it gets closer and closer to its retirement. Forever 21 clothes just don't last forever.

Dog Days
I've been feeling really unproductive lately; spending the majority of my days hiding indoors enjoying the air conditioner. The best attire in this weather are floaty, breezy, dresses, and this is one of my favorites. This dress has been stashed in my closet and I haven't found the perfect opportunity to wear it out just yet.
The future is filled with triple digits with no relief in sight. August always reminds me that I live in the desert.

Summer Floral
This outfit is absolutely perfect for a lazy Friday spent going out to eat with friends. I always love a good floral print, and the scallop cut gives the shirt a little something extra.

Midsummer Recap
I've spent the last two weeks spending a California summer the way it is supposed to be spent; going to the beach, fairs, and outdoor shows. The O.C Fair is quickly becoming one of my favorite summer events, and this year was no different. The food is great, the weather is great, and getting in for free doesn't hurt either.
As embarrassing as it is to say, one of my highlights of this trip was running into Disney Channel stars. My niece Charlotte loves this show "Shake It Up," and while I usually find everything about it to be super annoying, I couldn't help but get super excited when I saw two stars of the show casually walking around the fairgrounds. I hunted them down like a fan girl and we all took a big group picture. I may be twenty, but I'm still a child at heart.
I went to the beach twice this week to make up for lost time. The first visit was relaxing, and the second was to see the bands Walk the Moon and Best Coast at the Huntington Beach Surf Open. While I did enjoy the show, it wasn't able to top last year's which featured a performance by one of my favorite bands, MGMT.

Spots & Dots
After six grueling weeks, my summer school math class has finally ended. About time. I owned that final, wearing my lucky leopard print flats. So now that class is officially over, I can sit back, relax, and enjoying the remaining summer month which should be filled with blogging, eating right, and exercising.

Collars & Lace
The end of my summer school course is in sight, and hopefully that means August will be spent dressing up and exploring places until the school year starts at the end of the month. This week I went to the movies wearing my favorite blouse. I absolutely adore peter-pan collars and back buttons, and when combined they look extra polished.
Nothing looks cuter with this top than a ponytail to really show off the back button details.

Spring Outfits
I've lived in southern California for my entire life, and although I am used to the heat and the endless supply of sunny days, I've never been a fan of the heat. During the summer months the weather reaches the 100's, and this week has been especially bad mixing triple digit temps with overcast humidity and rain. This weather isn't comfortable to live in, let alone get dressed in. I've been failing at documenting my recent outfits, so I've decided to post two casual outfits from spring.
I'm making it a major goal of mine to start posting more often and more frequently, which means I need to start accepting the weather.

Stylist Crush
Now I have to confess that I've never really paid Emma Stone's style that much attention. She's always been appeared to be well dressed and put together, but what turned me off from her style was that at times her looks comes off as too calculated. Many of her past looks are overly thought out, and a little too perfect looking. However, her recent looks from her Spiderman press tour made me take notice of not only her, but also her stylist Petra Flannery. None of the over twenty looks that Stone wore looked the same, and they were all cool, sophisticated, and occasionally edgy. Here were my favorites:

A Little About Me
Now that I've discussed my fashion favorites, I think it's time for me to share a bit of my story. I've been a fashion blog lurker for over a year now, but I never put much thought into creating my own. Well times have changed and I finally decided to take the plunge to see what all the fuss was about. I been interested in fashion since my junior year of high school, and this love grew when I lost 20 pounds after graduating. Losing some weight definitely allowed me to wear the clothes that I wanted to wear. I don't have an fancy camera, and until I get one I will continue to take photos using my beloved ipod Elle (pictured).

Fashion Favorites Pt. 3
While many were admiring Rooney Mara's style this past award season; I found myself enamored by a relatively unknown 27 year-old British actress. Felicity Jones is best known for her breakout role in "Like Crazy," but I know her best for her simple yet edgy looks. Jones is constantly rocking a range of different looks, ranging in textures, patterns, and lengths. Her signature look encompasses a black dress/messy up do. Normally I hate it when actresses overdose on black, but in Jones' case she never comes off as a repeat offended. In addition to her outfits, Jones' hair and makeup are always on point. Her stylist deserves a pay rise.

Fashion Favorites Pt. 2
Okay, so I have to admit, I know very little about Elizabeth Olsen. I know she's Hollywood's latest indie darling, and that she's been racking in the movie roles, but besides that, (and her famous siblings) I know very little about this young star. Despite never having seen one of her films, Olsen has captured by attention for her effortlessly cool and casual candid style. I'm not huge fan of her red carpet looks, but her street style has me completely enamored. Her often 70's inspired style is usually composed of layers featuring wide brimmed hats and tailored coats.Olsen always looks comfortable and never overdone, and I have to give props to a girl that can make brown corduroy pants look chic. Seriously, why does this girl look so adorable in hats?

Fashion Favorites
For my first posts, I'm going to share the famous females that have inspired my own personal style. As a lover of all things pop culture, I have definetly kept my eyes on celebrity style, and just like many other famous followers, Emma Watson's style has kept my attention. I started to notcing her polished ensembles during her Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince press tour in 2009, and since then I have been an avid fan. Her style stands out in a sea of young scantily clad actresses, for her style is classy, yet age appropriate. Watson constantly rocks different patterns and prints without her looks ever looking too calcuated, her stylists clearly deserve praise for always making her look polished, youthful, and just plain cool.
